| Bio: | Hmmm. I've spent all my life studying, in school or otherwise. I have a farm, goats, two cats, a dog and a lovely partner named Randy. I can grow stuff, most anything really. I know a lot of tidbits about nothing in particular. I'm a Linux computer geek. I love geeks; I really fit in with geeks. I love research. Libraries rock. I was a punk/Goth back before it was cool to be either. I still wear black all the time. I fell in love with a Roman when I was 10 years old and have never fallen out, hence my lifelong research into the Roman Empire and the subject of my PhD. I 'do' the SCA. I like costuming and am getting good at it. I love embroidery. I can play the bass guitar, the guitar, and the piano. Once upon a time I was very shy, now I just don't care. I can milk a goat. I can make cheese from the milk. I'm good with numbers. A long time ago I trained in college to be a sub-atomic particle physicist and work with the Navy on submarines. I got smart and decided that wasn't for me because I'm a night owl and I question authority. Constantly. But I do have this residual engineering/particle-physics degree hanging around. I lived in England, Newcastle-upon-Tyne to be exact, for 3 and 1/2 years total while I went to graduate school and did research. I consider it my second home and love it there. Some day, when I'm old and grey, I hope to return there to die. Something about race memory, I guess... | |||||
